When you’re starting to research motorhomes around Columbus, Grove City, and Dublin, Ohio, you might notice three different classes: A, B, and C. Each class offers slightly different things, meaning choosing the right type for you is an important step to choosing the right motorhome for you and your family.

Mark Wahlberg RV is here to go over the differences between each class to aid in your motorhome research. Read on to learn a little about each class and how they stand apart from one another.

Class A Motorhome

Class A motorhomes are some of the biggest RVs on the road. They are typically identifiable by their size and boxy shape. Class A motorhomes are built on a commercial truck chassis or a bus chassis.

They can be as long as 45 feet and are often used by RVers who spend a lot of time in their motorhome. Due to their size, Class A motorhomes can sleep upwards of eight people and often have larger kitchens and bathrooms.

In fact, some Class A motorhomes even have room for a private main bedroom with a queen-sized bed, giving parents some space from the kids or the owners a bit of privacy from the rest of the road-tripping gang.

Class B Motorhome

Class B motorhomes are the smallest type of motorhomes, about the size of a large van. These motorhomes can be as long as 24 feet. They have the typical van shape that you’d expect, but the interior is designed for your RV road trips, including amenities like a sleeping space, kitchenette, and seating area.

These motorhomes are a good choice for one to two people. Class B motorhomes can also be easier to navigate on the roads and parking due to their smaller size. Since these motorhomes are smaller, they also come with good fuel economy. Smaller homes mean less weight, which takes less gas to drive the motorhome.

Class C Motorhome

Class C motorhomes are midsize, up to 33 feet long, between Class A and Class B. Often, they are constructed on a cutaway van or truck chassis that is made for motorhomes specifically. You’ll have a little more room than a Class B motorhome, with room for three to eight people.

Like Class A motorhomes, Class C motorhomes have room for kitchens, additional storage, and larger bathrooms. With Class C motorhomes, you’ll typically find an attached cab and an overhang that goes over the cab. That overhang can be used for sleeping or storage. You might also find additional amenities in Class C motorhomes like heating and cooling or an entertainment system.
